The Lazio Region is providing a number of 9-seater Fiat Ducato vehicles that will be used in the inland areas of the Comino Valley, the Reatini Mountains and, subsequently, the Simbruini Mountains.
The vehicles will make up the fleet for the on-demand service in the three areas with very low transport demand: it will start with a deviation from the regular route to arrive at a many-to-many service (i.e. a variable route according to user requests, if feasible) and by reservation.
Reservations can be made by calling Cotral on 800 174 471 or in real time via SMS, app (Chiamabus) and email.
The project, financed with €3.28 million from the Development and Cohesion Funds (FSC), was created with the aim of facilitating access to the main functional centres (health, tourism, etc.) for “non-systematic” mobility for residents and non-residents and facilitating the mobility of vulnerable users (the elderly and minors) and those with reduced mobility.
The operating hours will initially be (during a trial period) from 08:30 to 19:00 on weekdays, with exceptions for special events, and will then be adjusted to meet transport demand. In the initial phase, the service will be structured in offline mode with advance booking, and once fully operational, it will be managed in real time.
