21. Amatrice – Campotosto

From here we start

From Amatrice we start again with reference from the Church of Sant’Agostino in an easterly direction to the SR577 for Campotosto. After about 300 meters you will find the signs for the SI300 path that runs along Amatrice, passes in front of the cemetery and after about 400 meters
you reach the beginning of the path 363 which leads to meet again the SR577 road at the San Cipriano farm . From now until Campotosto you will not cross other fractions.

On the summit of Monte Cardito

Continue on asphalt for another 200 meters until you find on the right the uphill attack always of the 363 signaled by arrows CAI, which leads to Serreripa where you enter the path 362. You climb until you meet again the SR577, to be traveled in a southerly direction for about 200meters. Continue to the left the path marked as 362 and then 362a to get to two buildings usually called Cantoniera.

From now on you walk on meadows and with little chance of reporting. However positioning itself between the fountain of the Cantoniera and the SR577(giving back to this) you can identify the path 359 that runs along the ditch Cerruglia in the east direction for about 1.5 km and then bend decisively to the right to go up to the top of the MonteCardito which offers one of the most beautiful views of the Laga overlooking the mountains and
Lake Campotosto.

From here it is clear the dirt road that leads to the village of Campotosto in a southerly direction.
