Livata – Corvaro

Week - 2

Here we are at the second week of this journey; we will travel 126 km from Livata to Corvaro, which, with its seven stages, will take us to charming villages rich in history and breathtaking lake landscapes.

The first stage takes us to Camerata Nuova; a few kilometers away, we enter the Abruzzo region, where we find Rocca di Botte, perhaps the shadiest village in the region, in an eternal friendly “struggle” with its sunny counterpart, the village of Pereto.

We leave Abruzzo to return to Lazio and head towards the Rieti area, following in the footsteps of the Coleman Trail, which takes us to Cineto Romano, where we can admire the castle walls with the beautiful Clock Tower reproduced by the landscape painter. Just before entering the village, a path allows us to visit and admire the watercourse of the Rioscuro Torrent Natural Monument.

From this pleasant village, we will set off along the trail that will take us into the Monti Lucretili Regional Nature Park towards Percile, where we will encounter the beautiful Lagustelli del Fraturno and Marraone lakes before reaching the village. We continue along a restored municipal road that once served the ancient cultivated lands and, skirting the large karst sinkhole of Pozzo dei Casali, we arrive at Orvinio, a beautiful and panoramic village in the Rieti area.

From here, we will continue towards Castel di Tora on the shores of the picturesque Lake Turano, which leaves visitors speechless, crossing the Monti Navegna e Cervia Nature Reserve, Marcetelli, Fiumata (Lago del Salto) and descend towards Pescorocchiano to end the week in Corvaro, home to the Montagne della Duchessa Reserve, where you can taste excellent craft beers produced in the Borgorose brewery.
