The slogan for this year’s World Wetlands Day is “value, manage, restore, love Wetlands,” promoting actions to enhance the extraordinary biological diversity present in these ecosystems, the importance of managing this biodiversity to reverse its loss and thus restore it, aiming to deepen knowledge of these extraordinary environments and their inhabitants in order to respect and love them.
In Lazio, six areas are listed in the Ramsar Convention register: the lakes of Monaci, Caprolace, Fogliano, and Sabaudia in the Circeo National Park, Lake Nazzano in the Nazzano Regional Reserve, Tevere-Farfa, and the Lagustelli di Percile in the Monti Lucretili Regional Park.
There are 94 regional wetlands, all included in theItalian Wetlands Register.
Our Nature Trail through the Parks touches Lake Albano, which bathes Rascino and finally Lake Campotosto.
