Season’s Greetings The CNP was founded in 2016, coinciding with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBACT) declaring it the National Year of Walking Trails and the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, with the aim of creating a different kind of trail from those we are used to. A journey on foot that leaves Rome and heads towards some of the small wonders of Central Italy among Protected Areas: Appia Antica Regional Park, Castelli Romani Park, Simbruini Mountains Park, Monti Lucretili Regional Nature Park, Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, Montagne della Duchessa Regional Nature Reserve, Monti Navegna e Cervia Nature Reserve.
This creates a 430 km network in the regions of Lazio and Abruzzo, linking Rome and L’Aquila and promoting the protection and enhancement of the cultural, environmental, and religious heritage of this area to encourage the development of sustainable tourism.
In recent days, the application submitted by the Simbruini Mountains Park for the registration of the Cammino Naturale dei Parchi trademark has been officially approved.
This is an important result that makes the project linking Rome and L’Aquila increasingly authentic through the promotion of training, educational, cultural, and sporting activities, and by expanding the network of institutional relationships that unites the seven protected areas of the Cammino.
The duration of the trademark registration is valid for 10 years from the date of filing the application.
