In recent days, arson fires have broken out in the Arischia pine forest near L’Aquila.
At present, the area affected by the fire threatens the route of the last stage of the Cammino Naturale dei Parchi (Nature Trail of the Parks), stage 25 (San Pietro della Jenca – L’Aquila), so it will not be possible to walk it.
We provide the following alternative instructions: from San Pietro della Ienca, descend through the Vasto valley and follow the cart track along the stream to reach the village of Assergi; from here, you can take city buses to the Collemaggio terminal (L’Aquila).
