Accumoli: A land that never gives up

Time passes, but some wounds take a long time to heal… Four years have passed since the terrible earthquake in Amatrice, the first in a series of seismic shocks that struck central Italy between 2016 and 2017. We were there planning the Cammino Naturale dei Parchi (Natural Path of the Parks) and, of course, the tragedy disrupted our plans and projects, but not our determination to move forward and bring our support to those areas that were so badly affected: Accumoli, Amatrice, and Campotosto. Now, these towns and their hamlets are struggling to get back on their feet and be protagonists of a new normal. The walkers and travelers who are passing through these areas are showing their support and solidarity with the affected communities, which are also rebuilding a widespread hospitality worthy of their history.
Walking through these areas is a great sign of active citizenship and passion for our inland areas, with the hope that, despite today’s difficulties, they will soon return to their former glory.
Come on, friends, hang in there, and here’s to a bright future for everyone!
Walkers and travelers, we await you to discover the smiles of a population rich in courage, strength, and beauty.
