In recent weeks, volunteers from the Civil Service of the Parco dei Monti Lucretili based in Subiaco, together with their Olp, Umberto and Fabiano, carried out several inspections at the Camerata Nuova-Cineto Romano stage of the second week of Livata-Corvaro.
The idea had actually been circulating for several months: a bridge connecting Cineto Romano to Riofreddo, allowing people to cross a small tributary of the Rioscuro stream, a natural monument of unique beauty.
On the first day, the Civil Service volunteers took measurements of the base and, a few days later, began laying the foundations. The materials were processed in the carpentry workshop of the Parco dei Monti Simbruini in Camerata Nuova, another key hub for signposting the trails of the Aniene Valley.
After several hours of work, we managed to build a bridge connecting the two banks and two villages of the Cammino Naturale dei Parchi without any obstacles. We also carried out routine maintenance to restore the area to its original beauty, which had been lost for some time.
A stretch of the Way that is exceptional in terms of landscape, thanks also to the Rioscuro Waterfalls and the stream itself, which characterises the valley. This place has been rediscovered in recent years and enhanced thanks to these small works, making the area accessible to everyone.
Beauty belongs to everyone.
During the work, the collaboration between the young people involved in the various Civil Service projects was fundamental, in particular: Cristina and Camilla from “CNP e Via dei Lupi”, Gianmario from the “Sport e cultura montana” project, Marco from “A piedi e in bici sulle vie della transumanza”, Maria Giacinta from “Rete Plastic free” and Ilaria from “Valorizzazione culturale e paesaggistica dei borghi”.
